Folding chairs in a small living room: Set up HaloShort
The sofa is full, so folding chairs come out of storage and the living room becomes a viewing area. Before starting HaloShort, check that everyone can see the screen, people can still get by, and the room can be put back afterward.
Measure the space once the chairs are unfolded
Folding furniture saves space when stored, but still has its own dimensions and requirements when unfolded. Set them up according to the specific chair's instructions, and don't estimate how many will fit based only on the stored width. If someone needs to grab water or step out midway, the walkway should still be usable after everyone sits down.
If a temporary guest bed is also unfolded at home, include the space it takes up. Decide which furniture is actually needed for the evening first, then leave room for watching TV—it's easier to arrange than constantly squeezing sideways after the chairs are already placed.
The screen doesn't need to move back and forth with every chair
If the existing TV can handle the viewing, try the current layout first. Place external boxes, power supplies, and video cables according to device instructions, and watch out for whether they lie across walking paths or the path for putting chairs away. Adding temporary seats doesn't mean turning the whole TV setup into a temporary installation.
HaloShort offers short dramas for TV. Sit on the far side and farther chairs to see if the subtitles of the target episode are readable, then decide who sits where; being able to see clearly from the main seat doesn't mean all temporary seats are the same.
Put the remote somewhere reachable before starting
You can use the arrow keys, confirm, and back to select content, and pause if you need to get up. If you plan to watch just one episode, turn off autoplay first, and discuss the next step after the ending. Before putting the chairs away, stop the current playback first
When everyone starts to leave, pause the TV first, then fold and store according to the furniture instructions. Check whether the remote, small items, and cables have been left in places you're about to move, and don't guess where things went while still listening to the plot. If the temporary TV area can be smoothly restored to the original living room, adding a few seats next time will be easier too.
